Caring for your Frameless Kits & Artwork Caring for your Frameless Kits & Artwork

On The Wall

Treat your Frameless Kit like you’d treat anything that is mounted on the wall. Be mindful when walking past it, or placing furniture around it. While Frameless won’t break like a traditional frame if knocked off the wall, the corner fold may break, and your Frameless Kit won’t have the flawless look like before.

Because of the mounting system on the back of Frameless, refrain from mounting Frameless directly next to or below a fan, as the air currents may catch behind it and disturb it.

Moisture

Take caution using Frameless in overly humid environments such as full bathrooms. Moisture can enter the kit and damage your artwork or comics. The flaps may want to open toward the ends, so use the Clear Flap Stickers to keep the flaps smooth and down.

Swapping Out Artwork

Always place your Frameless on a smooth surface, ideally soft cloth, felt, or a table cloth. Paper and wood can cause fine abrasions to the Protective Sleeve, and they may be noticeable when viewed up close.

When opening and closing the flaps, always do so in the same direction. Never fold over in the opposite direction. Take care not to let sharp or pointy objects near Frameless as they may cut or crease the plastic. If using a comic book bag and board, completely remove the mounting system from the back of your Comic Book Frameless Kit so that it fits neatly in the bag and board.

Long Term Display

As with every type of display, the artwork or comic inside Frameless should only be on display for 3-6 months at a time. Even when not in direct sunlight, the ambient light from the surroundings may affect the vibrancy of your display. So we highly encourage you to swap out for another display seasonally.

Storage and Travel

Store Frameless inside of the clear plastic bag that shipped with your Frameless Kit. Up to 5 kits can be stored in one bag at a time, with their art inside. Since the Protective Sleeve is archival safe, we suggest that you keep all of your artwork in your Frameless Sleeves, even when not in use. Keep the box Frameless was shipped in, as everything inside is designed to help the Frameless Kits last longer, both for the Protective Sleeves as well as the Mounting Components.
